Identify the type of lighting used in the film (traditional three-point, high-key, or low-key) and assess the impact of the lighting used to establish the theme.

In the movie “Saving Private Ryan” the lighting use was bright throughout the movie until night fall came. The times it was dark the tensions for this was when they was shooting you are able to see fire, smoke, body flying over the place as well.

What are the benefits of the style of lighting used? The benefit for the lighting use is to capture great shots and surroundings as well. But the scene I like was it when bullets was fired in the water to see it and was a great shot I would say that’s high key. Most of the shots in this movie were close because being a action movie you want to try your best to capture everything; it’s so many moving parts.

How did this technique contribute to the theme? This movie was shot, but most of the action took place on battle field mainly because it’s a war/action packed movie. http://image.slidesharecdn.com/analysisofsavingprivateryan-090930091927-phpapp02/95/analysis-of-saving-private-ryan-4-728.jpg?cb=1254302428 this picture was a great capture by camera man as well. Lighting in movies are very important because it set the mood and the vibe of movie and you will be on the edge of seat wondering what’s going to happen next. Just remember if the lighting isn’t good in movie doesn’t mean the movie isn’t going to be good it could have been better though.

How was the lighting technique suited to the genre of the film? For example, documentary films tend to rely on natural light as a way of creating an overall tone of authenticity.  To this film “Saving Private Ryan” each scene the lighting was dead on great and very high quality shots and well put together. That shows the director and crew took time and did their best work to put out a great movie. The overall lighting was bright, grey, and gloomy so it made the movie flow throughout.
